Fire drill “Jastrebarsko 2022”

In Kemis Warehouse for Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Jastrebarsko in cooperation with the authorized company Konspekt d.o.o. a fire drill called “JASTREBARSKO 2022” was held on March 25, 2022. The topic of the exercise was the simulation of an emergency situation, i.e. a small-scale fire, and all 11 employees of the warehouse participated in it. The place of the exercise is only the warehouse and delivery yard of KEMIS-Termoclean, at the address V. Holjevac 20.

The exercise consisted of 3 parts:

  1. Part 1 of the exercise: We announced an exercise to the Directorate of Civil Protection on number 112. Then we activated the hand-held alarm of the fire alarm system, inside Hall B. After activating the alarm, there was a fire mode and sirens sounded. An employee in Hall B, the nearest fire alarm control panel, approached the control panel and read the location of the fire.
  2. Part 2 of the exercise: We activated the hand-held alarm system in Hall B. After activating the sirens, all employees quickly evacuated from all halls to the assembly point in front of the PA-VIN warehouse. It took the workers a minute and 36 seconds to get to the assembly point. After the evacuation, all workers practiced in pairs to extinguish the fire with a hydrant network in the delivery area of the warehouse. The subject of the extinguishing was a delivery vehicle under the presumption of a fire in the waste shipment. Workers extinguished the fire of the vehicle with a hydrant network from a safe distance with multiple re-connections of hydrant equipment to the installation.
  3. Part 3 of the exercise: An employee of KONSPEKT d.o.o. held a short presentation and distributed instructions to all present on how to operate a fire extinguisher. He prepared a mixture of fuel and water in a pot for firefighting exercises and lit a match in the pot with a lighted match. All employees practiced firefighting with fire extinguishers.

Employees showed great confidence in managing the emergency situation, so that all three completed exercises were evaluated positively by the company Konspekt. The aim of the exercise was to maintain knowledge and preventive preparation of employees for rapid action in emerging fires and advanced fires.
